Frequently Asked Questions

How do I become a patient at Anatomix?
In the state of Louisiana, you must have a prescription from your doctor indicating your diagnosis and his/her recommendations for frequency and duration of physical therapy. A physical therapist can evaluate a patient without a prescription but cannot carry out treatment unless prescribed by the doctor.

What if Anatomix is not listed as a provider on my insurance?
Please call us to make certain this is the case. Sometimes companies do not update their provider list or inadvertently omit the correct information.
Our phone number is 985-542-6664.

What if the business hours are not convenient for my schedule?
We do make special arrangements for patients who cannot come in during our regular business hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday). Please do not hesitate to call us to set up an early or late appointment.

Is it true that physical therapy can cause soreness and pain?
Physical therapy can cause some muscle soreness and pain on occasion. This is often necessary to obtain and restore normal function. Our herapists are highly skilled in detecting what is beneficial or detrimental based on the patient's feedback. We design every treatment plan to accommodate each individual and their tolerance to exercise or stretching.

After surgery, my doctor ordered physical therapy but I am on a tight budget and may have difficulty with my payments. Do you have a payment system?
We want our patients focusing on their recovery and not worrying about payment. We are always willing to work out a payment plan that best suits our patient's financial needs. Out of courtesy to our patients, we bill insurance companies directly.

My child has cerebral palsy and may need physical therapy. Do you treat children?
We do treat children who have orthopedic injuries; however, we do not see children with neurological defects. This is a highly specialized area of physical therapy. Please call us if you would like recommendations for a pediatric physical therapy clinic.
